Kentucky State Police Awards Ceremony
(Frankfort, KY)---On Wednesday, May 12, 2004, the Kentucky State Police will conduct its annual awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency, 401 West High Street, Lexington, at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The ceremony will honor 35 Kentucky State Police Troopers and eight civilians who have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievements in the performance or support of law enforcement activities.
Lt. Gov. and Justice Secretary Stephen B. Pence and Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark L. Miller will present awards for meritorious service, bravery and valor as well as life saving acts. The 2003 Kentucky State Police Trooper of the Year will also be announced.
Civilian award recipients are from Bowling Green, Hyden, Oil Springs, Richmond, Salyersville, Thousand Sticks and Woodburn.
Following the activities in Lexington, a ceremony will be held at KSP Head-quarters, 919 Versailles Road, Frankfort, in observance of Police Memorial Week. KSP Troopers who have been killed in the line of duty will be honored. The memorial service is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT.
