Lieutenant Governor Stephen Pence names New Public Information Officer for the Justice & Public Safety Cabinet
Vetern television reporter, Chris Gilligan to serve in new role
(Frankfort, KY) Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Stephen B. Pence announced Chris Gilligan as the new Public Information Officer for the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Gilligan will oversee and coordinate the communications operation for the Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Criminal Justice Training, the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement and other agencies under the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
"Chris Gilligan's veteran media career will be a tremendous asset for the Fletcher-Pence administration and the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet," said Lt. Governor Pence. "I look forward to working with Gilligan's enthusiastic and journalistic approach to help spread our message to the people of this great Commonwealth."
"I am honored to serve as the new Public Information Officer for the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet," said Gilligan. "The Fletcher-Pence administration requires accountability and a proactive work ethic, and I will work diligently to fulfill these expectations."
Chris Gilligan has worked in the television news service for twelve years including seven years as a State Capital Reporter for WLKY in Louisville, KY. Gilligan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Xavier University with a B.A. in Communication Arts in 1992. He resides in Lexington with his wife and two children.
