As Public Affairs Officer for Post 12, which covers Fayette, Scott, Woodford, Franklin, Anderson, Shelby and Spencer counties, Turley was featured in 51 radio and television media interviews in 2007 covering subjects ranging from highway safety to on-scene incident interviews. "Tpr. Turley's efforts to educate the public about traffic safety and drug awareness are second to none," said Capt. Michael Crawford, commander of Post 12. "He hosted 970 programs during the year which led to 19,628 citizens receiving information about these subjects. The programs included AAA driving classes, DARE classes and child and senior citizen safety programs. The Boy Scouts, area church groups, several school systems and local professional organizations were also benefactors of his knowledge and experience in these areas."
