Kentucky State Police Promotes 29 Officers

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.)--- The Kentucky State Police announced the promotion of 29 officers throughout the state at a special ceremony held today at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Louisville. Two KSP majors, two captains, four lieutenants and 14 sergeants were commissioned along with seven Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) sergeants.

KSP Capt. Michael P. Crawford was promoted to major and transferred from command of Post 12 in Frankfort to command of the West Troop at KSP headquarters in Frankfort. A resident of Georgetown and native of Hi Hat, Crawford is a 27-year KSP veteran.

KSP Capt. Edward L. Johnson was promoted to major and transferred from command of Post 7 in Richmond to command of the Technical Services Division, Forensic Laboratory Troop in Frankfort. A resident of Danville and native of Louisville, Johnson is a 28-year KSP veteran.

KSP Lt. Kevin B. Nally was promoted to captain and will remain assigned to the Special Operations Branch as commander. A resident of Winchester and a native of Springfield, Nally is a 21-year KSP veteran.

KSP Lt. Wesley B. Slone was promoted to captain and transferred from KSP Post 7 in Richmond to Post 13 in Hazard as commander. A resident of Beattyville and a native of Richmond, Slone is a 20-year KSP veteran.

KSP Sgt. Lonnie Bell was promoted to lieutenant and transferred from Post 16 in Henderson to Post 2 in Madisonville. A native of Owensboro and a resident of Henderson, Bell is a 15-year KSP veteran.

KSP Sgt. Sean L. McKinney was promoted to lieutenant and will remain assigned to Post 16 in Henderson. A native of Marion and a resident of Henderson, McKinney is a 10-year KSP veteran.

KSP Sgt. Jeremy C. Slinker was promoted to lieutenant and will remain assigned to the Special Operations Branch. A native of Greensburg and a resident of Richmond, Slinker is an 18-year KSP veteran.

KSP Sgt. Anthony B. Taulbee was promoted to lieutenant and transferred from Post 9 in Pikeville to Post 2 in Madisonville. A native of Salyersville and a resident of Virgie, Taulbee is a 12-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Elbert M. Bowling, Jr. was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Post 11 in London to the Electronic Crimes Branch in Frankfort. A resident of Berea and a native of Hazard, Bowling is a 14-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Marc H. Carter was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Post 16 in Henderson. A resident of Robards, Carter is a 16-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Christopher J. Crockett was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to the Executive Security Branch in Frankfort. A resident of Lexington and a native of Louisville, Crockett is a 16-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Shawn E. Darby was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to the Academy Branch in Frankfort. A resident of Nicholasville, Darby is a nine-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Derek R. Grant was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Post 3 in Bowling Green. A resident of Bowling Green and a native of Campbellsville, Grant is an eight-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Thomas M. Hampton, Jr. was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Post 16 in Henderson to Post 4 in Elizabethtown. A resident of Hanson and a native of Russellville, Hampton is a seven-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Carey B. Kitts, Jr. was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Post 6 in Dry Ridge. A resident of Lexington, Kitts is a 12-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Chadwick B. Mills was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Post 6 in Dry Ridge to the Operations Division. A resident of Walton and a native of Lovely, Mills is a 12-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Ira L. Napier was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Post 13 in Hazard to Post 15 in Columbia. A native and resident of Hazard, Napier is an 11-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Russell W. Roberts was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Post 16 in Henderson. A resident of Morganfield and a native of Clay, Roberts is a 16-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Richard P. Saint-Blancard was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to the Recruitment Branch in Frankfort. A resident of Petersburg, Saint-Blancard is a six-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. William L. Shuffett, II was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to the Special Operations Branch. A native and resident of Greensburg, Shuffett is a 10-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. David F. Trimble was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Post 5 in Campbellsburg to the Internal Affairs Branch in Frankfort. A resident of Carrollton, Trimble is a 10-year KSP veteran.

Tpr. Bryan W. Whittaker was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Post 16 in Henderson. A resident of Beaver Dam and a native of Hartford, Whittaker is a nine-year KSP veteran.

CVE Officer Nathanial Day was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Region 6 in Pikeville to Region 5 in Morehead. A native and resident of Krypton, Ky., Day is a seven-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer Paul K. Doublin was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Region 1 in Henderson to Region 2 in Louisville. A native of Blandville and a resident of Eddyville, Doublin is a 22-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer Dewel M. Miller, III was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Region 1 in Henderson. A native and resident of Hartford, Ky., Miller is an eight-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer Justin A. Pickrell was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Region 6 in Pikeville to Region 3 in Georgetown. A native of Augusta and a resident of Whitesburg, Pickrell is a nine-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer Gregory W. Reams was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Region 4 in London. A native and resident of London, Reams is a six-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer John W. Scott was promoted to sergeant and transferred from Region 2 in Louisville to the Driver Testing Branch. A native of Greensburg and a resident of Summersville, Scott is a nine-year CVE veteran.

CVE Officer Jason S. Townsend was promoted to sergeant and will remain assigned to Region 5 in Morehead. A native and resident of Jeffersonville, Ky., Townsend is a six-year CVE veteran.
