KSP Charges Nelson County Man With Internet Related Crimes

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- A Nelson County man was arrested on Feb. 16 and charged with crimes related to child pornography after police served a search warrant at his home earlier this month.
Richard Keene, 44, of Bardstown, was charged with 11 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 2,000 counts of possession of matter portraying sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Nelson County jail.
Keene was arrested as the result of an ongoing undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that began in September 2011. Kentucky State Police detectives began investigating after detectives discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Keene's residence on Feb. 2, by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch and Bardstown Police. Equipment used to distribute child pornography and thousands of images and videos of child pornography were seized and examined by KSP's Forensic Laboratory prior to the arrest.
