KSP Charges Perry County Man with Internet Related Crimes

Date of News Release: 05/18/2012

(KRYPTON, Ky.) A Perry County man was arrested on charges related to child pornography Wednesday after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.

Craig A. Bailey, 23, is charged with six counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.

Bailey was arrested as the result of an ongoing undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that began in January 2012. Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch began investigating after they discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Bailey's residence in Krypton on March 16, 2012 by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch and KSP Post 13 units. Equipment used to distribute child pornography were seized and taken to KSP's Forensic Laboratory for examination. Additional charges are pending.
