KSP Charges Oldham County Man with Crimes Related to Child Pornography

(La Grange, Ky.) - An Oldham County man was arrested on charges related to child pornography on Tuesday, Sept. 17 after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.
Richard Wayne Johnson, 35, is charged with two counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 12 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Oldham County Jail Tuesday. He has been released on bond.
Johnson was arrested as the result of an ongoing undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that began more than a year ago. Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch detectives began investigating after receiving a complaint regarding an unknown person who had distributed a video depicting child sexual exploitation. Subsequent investigation led detectives to Johnsonís residence in La Grange, Ky.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Johnsonís residence on Sept. 17, 2013 by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch, KSP Post 5 Campbellsburg, as well as units with the Oldham County Police Dept. Equipment used to distribute and possess child pornography was seized and taken to KSPís Forensic Laboratory for examination. A preliminary preview of multiple electronic items at the scene revealed thousands of images of child sexual exploitation.
