KSP Arrests Shelbyville Man On Charges Related to Child Pornography

(Frankfort, KY) - On June 30, 2014 at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, with the assistance of KSP Post 12 in Frankfort, arrested James E. Faust, age 54, for charges related to child pornography. Faust is charged with one count of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor 1st offense with further charges pending presentation to the Shelby County Grand Jury.
This arrest was the result of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Detectives with KSP ECB began investigation in April after they discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation over the internet.
The investigation continued until a search warrant was executed at the residence of Faust in the city of Shelbyville. Following the execution of the search warrant and preview of the electronic media seized, Faust was placed under arrest and transported to the Shelby County Detention Center where bond is currently pending. A full forensic examination of the evidence is pending and the investigation is ongoing by Det. Josh Lawson.
