Kentucky State Police Pursuit Leads to Arrest

Frenchburg, KY. (March 29, 2020) – On March 28, 2020, Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a call for assistance from Menifee County Dispatch with a two vehicle fatal collision. A juvenile was operating a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup traveling east on KY 36. Billy McDonald, 56 years of age, of Mount Sterling, KY was traveling west on KY 36 operating a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle. It was determined that the juvenile was attempting to make a left hand turn into Dave’s Minute Mart parking lot when he turned into the westbound lane striking Mr. McDonald on the left side of his motorcycle. Mr. McDonald was pronounced deceased by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. Kentucky State Police was assisted by Menifee County EMS, Menifee County Fire and Rescue and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. This collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead.
