Greenville, KY. (December 4, 2017) – At approximately 9:24 A.M. the Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle collision involving injuries on KY 601 approximately one mile north of Greenville, KY.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Esther Shemwell, 28, of Greenville, KY was operating a 2012 Toyota Corolla southbound on KY 601. Shemwell lost control of the vehicle while looking at her cell phone. The vehicle exited the southbound shoulder of the roadway, struck a concrete bridge abutment and tree. Shemwell’s vehicle then overturned and coming to final rest, off the roadway. Shemwell was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Muhlenberg Community Hospital by Muhlenberg County EMS.
The collision was investigated by Trooper Matt Jordan. Trooper Jordan was assisted on scene by Trooper Mark Combs, Trooper Jacob Fortney, the Greenville Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS.
