Fatal Crash in Rockcastle County

(MT. Vernon, KY) - On Friday March 14th 2014 at 7:30 A.M. officer Travis Rogers with KSP-Vehicle Enforcement responded to a single vehicle fatal crash located on I-75 southbound near the 59 mile marker in Rockcastle County Kentucky.

Upon arrival and through investigation officers found that 45 year old Anne M. Bushey of McDougall Ontario was traveling south on I-75 when she left the roadway striking the rock wall and overturning. A passenger, Paul B. Bushey 48 of McDougall Ontario was pronounced dead on the scene, and a 17 year old juvenile was air lifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center were her injuries are not known at this time.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash and crews work for several hours to clean debris from the roadway. Traffic was rerouted to US25W until I-75 could be reopened around 10:00 A.M.

Assisting on Scene: Officer David Burton, Mount Vernon Police, Rockcastle Co Sheriff's Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department and Rockcastle County EMS. Officer Travis Rodgers continues the investigation.
