(Irvine, Ky.)— On April 12, 2018, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Andy Estes, 42, on charges related to child sexual exploitation.
Mr. Estes was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect using social media to engage in sexual conduct and communication with minors.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Irvine on April 12, 2018. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Mr. Estes is currently charged with one count of Prohibited Use of Electronic Communications System to Procure a Minor for Sex Offenses. The charge is a Class-D Felony, punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison. Mr. Estes was lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail.
