Mayfield, KY. (December 6, 2020) – Friday, December 4, 2020 around 10:20 p.m., a Trooper with Kentucky State Police, Post 1 conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Mercury Sable on Jimtown Road in Mayfield. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Darren Carrol, 32 of Mayfield, Kentucky was found to have an active bench warrant out of Graves County. During a search of Carrol, the Trooper located a handgun, suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, and various items of drug paraphernalia. Through further investigation, it was determined Carrol is a convicted felon.
Carrol was arrested and charged with Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon (Class C Felony), Carrying a Concealed Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 3rd or > Offense – Methamphetamine (Class D Felony), Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor). Carrol was also charged with the Graves County warrant for Failure to Appear. He was lodged in the Graves County Detention Center.
