Cunningham, KY. (July 9, 2020) – Troopers with Kentucky State Police, Post 1 responded with Carlisle County Sheriff’s Deputies around 1:05 p.m. Thursday for a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of KY 121 and KY 408. Shortly after the arrival of law enforcement, the Kentucky State Police Post 1 Reconstruction Team was called to the scene. Initial investigation shows Brittany Babb, 20 of Sikeston, Missouri was travelling south on KY 121, operating a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer while Jerey Lee, 56 of Park Hills, Missouri was headed north, operating a 2016 Mack semi truck. For unknown reasons, Babb’s vehicle crossed over the center line and collided with Lee.
Lee was transported by EMS to Jackson Purchase Medical Center where he was treated and released for non life-threatening injuries. Babb was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Babb was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision. Lee did have his seat belt on.
The collision is under investigation by Trooper Jay Dunn and Reconstructionist Detective Michael Robichaud. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office, Carlisle County EMS, Carlisle Clumty Rescue Squad, Carlisle County Emergency Management, Cunningham Fire Department, Bardwell Fire Department, and Ballard County EMS.
