Tpr. Trosper is continuing to investigate the collision. Barbourville Ky. (September 22, 2019) On September 22, 2019 at approximately 9:45 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call from Knox County Dispatch asking for assistance involving an injury collision on Ky 3439 just outside of Barbourville. Trooper Kyle Trosper responded to the scene and began an investigation.
Preliminary investigation indicates Sarah Buttery (30) of Barbourville was attempting to pull out of a driveway onto Ky 3439 while operating a 2014 silver Buick. Ms. Buttery and her passenger pulled out into the path of a silver 2003 Town & Country Chrysler Minivan that was operated by 26 year old Glenn Marion. Mr. Marion was traveling southbound on Ky 3439 when his vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Buick.
Ms. Buttery and her front passenger was transported from the scene by ambulance to Baptist Health in Corbin for non-life threatening injuries.
Mr. Marion had a front seat passenger along with two small kids in the back of the minivan. Mr. Marion and a four year old child was transported from the scene by ambulance to the Knox County ARH Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The front passenger and a three year old were flown to UK Medical Center in Lexington for their injuries. The two flown out are listed in stable condition as of this time.
The use of seat belts, child restraints, drugs and alcohol is still under investigation. Tpr. Trosper is continuing to investigate the collision. Also assisted were KSP Reconstructionist Tpr. Whiles from Post 11 London, Barbourville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Barbourville Fire Department and Knox County EMS.
