Mt. Vernon, KY. (November 16, 2021) – On November 15, 2021 just before 9:00 AM Kentucky State Police, Post 11 received a call from Rockcastle 911 stating a victim vehicle had been broken into at a local store in Northern Rockcastle County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had stopped at a convenient store in northern Rockcastle County and while he was in the business, Jason P. Northern 43 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. had entered the victim’s vehicle and stole several items. The victim observed the suspect’s vehicle at a residence in the Roundstone Community of Rockcastle County. While waiting on the authorities to arrive, the suspect came out with a hammer and steel rod, motioning to the victim in a threating manner.
Detective Loudermilk was able to get consent to search the property where Northern was staying. Detective Loudermilk was able to locate the victim’s stolen property. Loudermilk also located 7 grams of Methamphetamine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, growing marijuana, and baggies filled with pills.
On November 15, 2021, Detective Loudermilk obtained a warrant of arrest for the suspect. On November 16, 2021 the suspect was located hiding in the attic of his residence. Northern was arrested on the warrant Detective Loudermilk had obtained on him.

Jason P. Northern was arrested and Taken to the Rockcastle Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing by Detective Ryan Loudermilk. He was assisted by Kentucky State Police Personal, Mt. Vernon Police Department and there K-9 service dog.
