GEORGETOWN, Ky. (October 28, 2022) – On October 27, 2022, at approximately 11:00 PM, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 12 responded to the area of Rodgers Gap Road to locate a missing hunter.  After an extensive search by first responders on the scene, Kentucky State Police Aircraft was contacted and assisted in finding the individual.

Kentucky State Police Aircraft utilized Forward-Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) to locate the individual, then relayed the location to units on the ground, who then located and removed the hunter from the woods.  Scott County EMS checked the individual for injuries, who was then released.

Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Georgetown Police Department, Scott County Emergency Management, Scott County Fire/EMS, and Georgetown Fire/EMS.
