Georgetown, KY. (October 8, 2020) – Detectives with the KSP Critical Incident Response Team are releasing the identity of the suspect in the officer involved shooting. Chester McDonald, age 44 of Stamping Ground, died on Tuesday October 6, 2020, as a result of a gunshot wound.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police detectives with the Critical Incident Response Team.

Georgetown, KY. (October 6, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post was contacted just before 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening in reference to an officer involved shooting in Scott County.
The initial investigation indicates that the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a domestic dispute on Raccoon Run. As the Deputy arrived on scene, he was approached by an individual in an aggressive manner who was yielding a weapon. The Deputy fired multiple shots striking the individual. The Scott County Coroner arrived on scene and pronounced the individual deceased. The deceased is being transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort where an autopsy will be performed tomorrow morning.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the KSP Critical Incident Response Team. They were assisted on scene by KSP Post 12 personnel, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Georgetown Police Department, the Scott County Coroner, Scott County EMS, and Scott County Fire.
