Update – (April 29, 2019) – A positive identification has been made on the body found in the North Fork of the Kentucky River in Breathitt County yesterday. Kentucky State Police Post 13 Detective Josh Huff spoke with the State Medical Examiner’s office who confirmed identification of the body as 44 year old Kenneth D. Neace of Jackson. Cause of death has yet to be determined. Kenneth Neace was reported missing to KSP Post 13 on March 17, 2019, and a missing person investigation has been ongoing. Altro, Ky. (April 28, 2019) – A body was discovered in the North Fork of the Kentucky River yesterday morning in Breathitt County. Kentucky State Police Post 13 Telecommunicators received a call shortly after 9:00 a.m. advising that a body had been found in the river adjacent to Elige Roberts Road in the Altro community. KSP personnel responded to the scene along with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers, Wolfcoal Fire Department and Jackson Fire Department members.
At the scene, the body was located and removed from the river. Breathitt County Coroner Hargis Epperson made a pronouncement of death at 10:45 a.m. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. Investigators hope to learn the identity of the body and cause of death once the exam is completed. Detective Josh Huff with KSP Post 13 is leading this investigation.
