Both subjects were lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
Casey County, KY (May 6, 2019) – On May 3rd, 2019 at approximately 4:45 PM EST Trooper Billy Begley attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2003 BMW for a traffic violation on U.S. 127, 4 miles north of Liberty, when the driver began to elude police. The pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100 MPH crossing into Lincoln County and back in to Casey County turning onto KY 78 where the driver lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of KY 49. Casey County Sheriff’s Department canine assisted at the scene, alerting on the passenger side of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in a large amount of suspected methamphetamine being located along with several syringes, and a large sum of cash. Trooper Begley arrested the driver, 34 year old Travis Crew of Dunnville and charged him with speeding 26 MPH over, improper registration plate, failure to maintain insurance 1st offense, fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), wanton endangerment 1st (police officer), wanton endangerment 1st, resisting arrest, reckless driving, improper passing, trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense > or 2 grams methamphetamine, DUI 2nd aggravating circumstances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, 24 year old Megan Shuck of Liberty, was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense > or 2 grams methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were lodged in the Casey County Detention Center.
