(Taylor County, Ky June 25 2018) – On Sunday, June 24^th, 2018 at approximately 1:34 PM CST Trooper Marvin Blakey conducted a routine traffic stop on a black 2010 Kia on Bengal Rd. Upon contact Tpr. Blakey detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle gave consent to search resulting in Tpr. Blakey locating a ”D.A.R.E.” bag containing a large amount of marijuana. Inside the large bag were several small individualized packages of marijuana. Upon further investigation a back seat passenger, Kern Kost, age 20 of Campbellsville stated that the marijuana belonged to him. Mr. Kost was charged with Trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to <5 lbs.) 1^st offense and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Kost was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
