BURKESVILLE, KY  (July 12, 2022) – On July 12 at approximately 15:13 P.M. CST, Kentucky State Police Post 15 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on KY 90 in Cumberland County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Tara Reed, age 49 of Cave City, was traveling west on KY 90 in a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze when she crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on KY 90 head on.  The Chevrolet Cruze was being operated by Bruce McCarty, age 79 of Burkesville.

Both Reed and McCarthy and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Cumberland County Coroner.

KSP Post 15 Troopers was assisted at the scene by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland County EMS and Fire, and the Cumberland County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation by Tpr. Brandon Roark.
