Bussell was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) – On October 20, 2018, at approximately 1:29 PM, Trooper Justin Cornett, of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, was dispatched to The Green River Correctional Complex for a promoting contraband complaint.

Preliminary investigation revealed Jenicia Bussell, 36 years of age, of Hopkinsville, KY, entered the prison and was caught by the prison staff with contraband. During the encounter with prison staff, Bussell assaulted a staff member, and threatened others. The staff member sustained minor injuries.

Bussell was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center where she was charged with the following:

1.)    Promoting Contraband– 1^st Degree

2.)   Tampering with Physical Evidence

3.)   Menacing

4.)   Assault 3^rd Degree- Police Officer or Prob Officer

5.)   Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1^st Degree, 1^st Offense- (> or = 2 Grams Methamphetamine)

6.)   Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1^st Degree, 1^st Offense- (> or = 4 Grams Cocaine)

7.)   Trafficking in Marijuana (Less than 8 oz.) 1^st Offense

8.)   Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 2^nd Degree, 1^st Offense- (> or = 20 Dosage Units Drug Unspecified Schedule 3)

9.)   Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/ Possess
