Hopkinsville, Ky. (Christian County) – Kentucky State Police Post 2, Madisonville, received a call of a single vehicle collision on October 4, 2020, around 8:45 PM. The collision occurred in the area of Julian Road and Brady Lane in the Hopkinsville community.
Trooper Hunter Carroll responded to the scene, where he discovered 38-year-old Bonita A. Schneider, of Crofton, Ky., had been operating a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on HWY 272. For an unknown reason, her vehicle exited the roadway and struck a fence and earth embankment.
Through further investigation, Trooper Carroll discovered Schneider was under the influence, and in possession of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, pills, and drug paraphernalia. Schneider was transported via Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where she was treated for her injuries.
Once medically cleared, Bonita Schneider was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center, where she was charged with the following:
- DUI 1st
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
- Possession Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree- Drug Unspecified
- Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
