Elkton, Ky. (Todd County) – Trooper Ridge Porter of Kentucky State Police, Post 2 in Madisonville, arrested an Elkton resident for trafficking in methamphetamine on March 15, 2020.
Trooper Porter initiated a traffic stop on a black SUV around 9:46 PM, after the operator failed to use their turning signal when turning onto Tress Shop Road from Stringtown Road in the Elkton community. During the stop, Trooper Porter made contact with a female operator, and her passenger, 31-year-old Joshua Justice, of Elkton.
Through further investigation, it was discovered Justice was trafficking in suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Joshua Justice was arrested and lodged in the Todd County Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:
- Public Intoxication- Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (> or = 2 Grams Methamphetamine)
- Trafficking in Marijuana (Less than 8 Ounces) 1st Offense
- Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
The operator was not charged.
