Angelo Gleaves was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center
Nortonville, KY (Hopkins County) – On March 4, 2019 at approximately 11:08 AM, Trooper Stuart Recke, of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, observed a dark gray Mazda 6 traveling at a high rate of speed, Northbound at the 32 mile marker on the Pennyrile Parkway. When Trooper Recke initiated his emergency equipment, the vehicle continued northbound where he exited the parkway at the Nortonville exit.
The pursuit continued until the operator lost control of his vehicle, crashing at the intersection of KY 2171 and Sand Cut Road, approximately two miles east of Earlington. The operator then exited his vehicle, and began to flee on foot. Troopers were able to apprehend the operator, identified as Angelo Gleaves, age 25, of Nashville, TN, after a foot pursuit.
Through further investigation, Trooper Recke discovered the vehicle Gleaves was operating had been entered stolen by Nashville Metro Police Department in October of 2018.
Angelo Gleaves was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center where he was charged with the following:
- Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit (Limited Access)
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot)
- Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or More
- Reckless Driving
- Disregarding Stop Sign
- Improper Passing
- Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Req INS/SEC, 1st Off
- Resisting Arrest
