The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Carroll.
Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) – On May 14, 2019 at approximately 11:39 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, received a complaint of an overturned semi on I-24.
When Trooper Carroll arrived on scene, he discovered Calvin Milford, age 53, of Conley GA, had been operating a semi-tractor and trailer westbound on I-24. Around the 74 mile marker, Milford’s semi struck a set of tires that were left in the roadway. Milford lost control of his vehicle, entered the median, struck the cable barrier, and overturned in the median.
The Kentucky Department of Transportation closed left lanes traveling east and west bound in order to clean up debris left on the roadway. Milford sustained minor injuries, and was transported to Jennie Stuart Hospital by Hopkinsville EMS, where he was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Carroll.
Trooper Carroll was assisted at the scene by Trigg County EMS, Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Square Deal Fire Department, Emergency Management, Christian County Rescue, and Hopkinsville EMS.
