Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) – On May 20, 2018 at approximately 12:42 AM, Kentucky State Police Trooper Paul Hale observed a 2005 Nissan passenger car operating with only one headlight.
Trooper Hale initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and upon making contact with the operator, identified as Kenneth McMickens, 38, of Hopkinsville, Trooper Hale detected the odor of marijuana and alcohol. A thorough investigation led to the Trooper discovering suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Kenneth McMickens was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center where he was charged with the following:
1.) One Headlight
2.) Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Ins/Sec, 1st Offense
3.) Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense – (> or = 2GMS Methamphetamine)
4.) Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
5.) Operating Vehicle with Expired Operator’s License
6.) DUI 1st, Aggravated
