Jeffrey Poole was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center
Earlington, KY (Hopkins County) – On May 7, 2019 at approximately 8:58 AM, Sergeant Nick Rice of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, observed a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt disregard a flagman holding a stop sign in the work zone on KY 112, west of Earlington.
Sgt. Rice’s emergency equipment was activated as he pulled behind the vehicle in attempt to stop it. The operator continued for approximately four miles into the city limits of Earlington, where the vehicle hit a curb and became disabled. Sgt. Rice arrested the operator, identified as Jeffrey Poole, age 63, of Dawson Springs, KY.
Jeffrey Poole was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center where he was charged with the following:
1.) Disregarding a Traffic Control Device- Stop Sign
2.) Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
3.) Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License
4.) Display/ Possession of Cancelled/ Fictitious Operator’s License
5.) Speeding in a Highway Work Zone
6.) No Seatbelt
7.) Resisting Arrest
8.) Failure of Non-owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense
