Troopers found the driver to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine
Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) – On July 25, 2018 at 10:05 PM, Kentucky State Troopers from Post 2 in Madisonville were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at a pre-approved location in Grapevine. During the traffic safety checkpoint they came in contact with Thomas Greer, 45, of Madisonville, who was the passenger in a vehicle.
Trooper Austin Cornett discovered Mr. Greer had a warrant issued for his arrest for failure to appear in Hopkins County. Through further investigation, Trooper Cornett also found Mr. Greer to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Thomas Greer was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail where he was charged with the following:
1.) Possession Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 3rd or Greater Offense (Methamphetamine)
2.) Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
3.) Public Intoxication- Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
4.) Failure to Appear
