Trooper Michael Dennis charged Jack Kao
Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) – On August 2, 2019 at approximately 2:58 PM, Trooper Michael Dennis observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Parkway at a high rate of speed.
Trooper Dennis activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. The operator of the motorcycle failed to yield, and accelerated to higher speeds. The motorcycle exited the parkway at the eleven mile marker, where Trooper Dennis lost sight. Christian County Deputies were in the area to assist in attempting to locate the motorcycle. KSP was notified by Christian County Dispatch that the operator of the motorcycle had wrecked after it collided with a Deputy’s vehicle.
The operator of the motorcycle was then identified as Jack Kao, age 22, of Fort Campbell, KY. Kao was flown by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
Trooper Michael Dennis charged Jack Kao with the following charges:
1.) Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
2.) Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, 5 counts
3.) Careless Driving
4.) No Registration Plates
5.) No Registration Receipt
6.) Speeding 26 MPH or Greater Over the Limit
7.) Disregarding Stop Sign
