Greenville, Ky. (Muhlenberg County) – On September 19, Trooper Justin Cornett, of Kentucky State Police Post 2, Madisonville, observed a 2019 Nissan Frontier speeding, and driving carelessly on North Main Street in Greenville, near town hill.
Trooper Cornett initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle around 3:20 p.m., where he identified the operator as 54-year-old Steven E. Ball, of Central City, Ky. Trooper Curtis Crick, who stopped to assist Trooper Cornett, identified a passenger in the vehicle as 24-year-old Blake T. Thomasson, of Central City, Ky. Though investigation, Trooper Cornett discovered Ball was under the influence, and in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Thomasson was persistently disorderly during the traffic stop, despite Trooper Crick warning him multiple times of potential charges.
Steven E. Ball was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:
- Speeding 05 MPH Over Limit
- Careless Driving
- DUI 1st
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
- Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
- Failure to Wear Seat Belts
Blake T. Thomasson was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center, where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, 2nd Degree
