At 7:53 AM on March 17, 2019, Aylssia Rodriguez succumbed to injuries at Vanderbilt University Hospital. KSP detectives have upgraded the shooting incident to a murder investigation. Detective May is being assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and Scottsville Police Department. KSP Post 3 is requesting that anyone with any information or leads concerning the investigation to contact Detective May with Post 3 at (270) 782-2010.

Scottsville, KY (March 16, 2019)-On Saturday evening at 10:31 PM (CST), KSP Post 3 dispatch received a call for service from the Scottsville Police Department requesting assistance with a shooting investigation. The incident had occurred at 605 North 3rd Street in Scottsville. Scottsville police officers had responded to the address and located a male and female inside, which had both sustained gunshot injuries.
KSP uniformed troopers and detectives responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation has revealed that two residents of 605 North 3rd Street, Charles A. Hopewell (21) and Alyssia M. Rodriguez (21), were inside their residence when unknown person(s) entered the house with a firearm, shooting at Hopewell and Rodriguez, striking them both. Hopewell was struck in the head area and was treated and released from the hospital. Rodriguez was also struck in the head and is admitted into a hospital, where she is currently listed in critical condition.
Kentucky State Police is requesting that anyone with any information or leads concerning the shooting investigation to contact Detective Michael May with KSP Post 3 at the following number: (270) 782-2010.
The ongoing investigation is being led by Detective May. Detective May was assisted by the Scottsville Police Department, and KSP uniform troopers and detectives.
