One driver airlifted by KY 8 medical helicopter and flown to the University of Louisville Hospital
Bonnieville, KY (July 10, 2018)- The Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call of an injury collision involving two passenger vehicles, at 7:05 AM this morning. The collision had occurred southbound on Interstate 65 near the 71 mile marker. Post 3 Troopers responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Nita Miller (60) of Elizabethtown, KY was operating a 2012 Nissan Juke while traveling in the right lane in front of Taylor C. Boiling (22) of Quitman, AR. Boiling’s vehicle struck Miller’s in a rear end manner, causing both to lose control. Miller’s vehicle crossed multiple lanes of travel, first striking a concrete barrier wall off the left shoulder, then re-entering the roadway, and finally exiting the right southbound shoulder coming to final rest against an earth embankment. Upon initial impact, Boiling’s vehicle exited the right shoulder striking an earth embankment causing the vehicle to overturn multiple revolutions before coming to final rest against a tree.
Taylor Boiling was transported from the scene by KY 8 medical helicopter and flown to the University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Nita Miller was transported by Hart County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in the collision.
The investigation is being conducted by Master Trooper Ronnie Reynolds. He was assisted on the scene by Post 3 Troopers, Hart County EMS, Bonnieville Fire Department, and KY 8. No further information is available for release at this time.
