Franklin, KY (July 8th, 2019) On July 8th, 2019 at 10:50 a.m, Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green was notified of a possible helicopter accident which had occurred in rural Simpson County. Kentucky State Police Troopers along with Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene of the accident.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Anthonie Christoffel Vos (35) of Sevierville, TN was operating a 1973 Tomcat MK6c helicopter for the purposes of agricultural spraying. The aircraft was being operated in the area of Kummer Road and Schweizer Road in Simpson County where the collision occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration has been contacted and will be responding to the scene. Anthonie Vos was transported to the Franklin Medical Center by private vehicle where he was treated and released with minor injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper First Class Joe Gregory. He was assisted on the scene by Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County Emergency Management, and Franklin-Simpson Fire and Rescue.
