Elizabethtown, KY. (February 1, 2019) – Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in Hardin Co. Friday morning. On February 1, 2019 at approximately 8:45 A.M. EST, KSP Post 4 received a call of a two-vehicle collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway at the 124-mile marker in Hardin County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Debra Stephens (64) of Leitchfield was traveling eastbound on WK Parkway in a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. William Roberts (62) of Winchester was traveling westbound in a 2019 Freightliner on the WK Parkway. Due to the ice covered road conditions at the time, Stephens crossed the median into westbound lane and into the path of Robert’s vehicle.
Stephens was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office. Roberts was uninjured. The westbound lanes were closed and the eastbound lane was reduced down to one lane in order allow troopers to investigate the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, White Mills Department and Hardin County EMS. The collision is under investigation by Trooper Brandon Brooks.
