LEITCHFIELD, KY. (Feb. 6, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has released the victim’s name from last Thursday’s shooting in Grayson Co.; Benjamin Vibbert, 46 of Falls of Rough.

LEITCHFIELD, KY. (Feb. 2, 2023) – On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at approximately 10:39 a.m. Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 received a call from the Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in investigating a shooting that had occurred near the 100 block of Keith’s Crossing in the Short Creek community of Grayson Co.
The preliminary investigation revealed a confrontation occurred between neighbors over a dog, Michael Baker, 42 of Falls of Rough and an adult male victim. At some point during the confrontation, Baker shot the victim who was later pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grayson Co. Coroner’s Office. The victim’s body was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy later today. The victim’s name is being withheld at this time until notification of next of kin. The case will later be turned over to the Grayson Co. Grand Jury.
KSP was assisted by the Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Police Dept., Grayson Co EMS, and the Grayson Co. Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing by KSP Det. James Gaither.
