McDainels, Ky. (September 1, 2018) – On Friday, August 30, 2019 at 10:18 P.M. CT; Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 was notified by Breckinridge County Dispatch of a domestic incident and that someone had received a gunshot wound at 138 Clora Kiper Road in the McDaniels Community of Breckinridge County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Nicholas S. Peek (29) of McDaniels, had shot Michael J Kunick (41) of Nicholasville during a domestic dispute. Mr. Kunick was flown to University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released. Mr. Peek was arrested the following day and charged with assault 1st degree and wanton endangerment 1st degree and was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
