Dry Ridge, KY. (October 22nd, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police Post 6, Dry Ridge, is actively seeking qualified applicants for vacant positions within the Radio Room. This is a full-time position, training provided. Telecommunicators are a vital link between State Troopers and the information needed to be effective and efficient in their daily operation. A Telecommunicator is the initial first responder, taking the call and dispatching emergency personnel such as police, fire, and emergency medical services.
All Telecommunicators are required to attend a 6-week training academy within the first year of service to become certified with the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council, in the following systems: Law Information Network of Kentucky (LINK), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and the National Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (NLETS), as well as training and certification in Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD)
