Dry Ridge, KY. (May 14, 2020) – Two autopsies were performed yesterday in Frankfort, KY to identify the victims involved in the fatal fire on Monday. One female victim was identified as Amanda Popejoy, 41-years-old of Westfield, Indiana. One male victim was identified as John Workman, 45-years-old of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky. The investigation continues to show no sign of foul play; cause of death to be determined.

Mt. Olivet, KY. (May 11, 2020) – The Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred at 938 US 62 in Robertson County. KSP received the call after 4:00am from an individual passing by the home.
The initial investigation indicates a residential home caught fire early Monday morning. First responders arrived at the scene and located two deceased adults inside the residence. The Robertson County Coroner was notified and responded to the scene. Both individuals were removed, pending identification from scheduled autopsies in Frankfort, KY. Kentucky State Police detectives are currently working to determine a cause and origin of the fire; nothing suggests foul play at this time. More information may become available for release as the investigation continues.
Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Robertson County Coroner, Robertson County Fire Department, and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office. This ongoing investigation is being led by Detective Chris Lairson.
