Salyersville, KY. (January 18, 2021) – The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post was transferred a 911 call from Magoffin County 911 on Sunday, January 17, 2021, regarding a shooting in Magoffin County.

KSP investigators responded to a residence on KY Route 378 and discovered a male had been shot. The initial investigation indicates Bradley Johnson was unlawfully inside the residence of Lyndon Holland. An altercation ensued and a firearm was discharged.  As a result, Bradley Johnson suffered fatal injuries from a gunshot wound.

Bradley Johnson, 28 years old of Olive Hill, KY, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Magoffin County Coroner’s Office.

Detective Kevin Newsome is leading the investigation. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.

This investigation will be presented to the Magoffin County Grand Jury for consideration. No charges have been filed at this time.
