PHELPS, Ky. (May 12, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a 911 call on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 7:43 a.m. regarding a shooting in Pike County.

KSP investigators responded to a residence on State Highway 194 E and discovered a male had been shot. The initial investigation indicates Strelin Justice Jr discharged a firearm fatally striking William Working.

William Working, 34 years old of Phelps, KY, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Coroner’s Office.

As a result of this investigation, Sterlin Justice Jr was arrested and lodged in the Pike County Detention Center. Justice is currently charged with Murder.

Detective Mahala Lewis is leading the investigation. She was assisted on scene by KSP personnel.
