UPDATE (May16 2019) At 2PM today a press conference will be held at Prestonsburg City Hall, located at 200 North Lake Drive, Prestonsburg KY 41653.
The purpose of the conference will be for any of the agencies involved in the search to have a chance to answer any questions, which may have not been addressed.

UPDATE (May 15, 2019) Just before 2PM today the child was found alive in the area of a strip mine in Floyd County which is on the boarder of Magoffin county.
The child has been transported by EMS to a medical facility, for examination and treatment if needed.
This case remains under investigation; further details will be released along as they become available.

(May 14, 2019) Kentucky State Police have opened a missing person investigation in Magoffin County, after receiving it from the Magoffin County Sheriffs Department.
On Sunday May 13th. Magoffin County 911 dispatch received a call reporting an 22-month-old child was missing from a residence in Magoffin County. The Magoffin County Sheriffs’ office along with several other First Responders searched the area thru the night and into the morning. Kentucky State Police assisted and had a helicopter in the area to assist personal on the ground.
Around 8:30 pm Monday evening a Detective from Post 09 was assigned the case and began an investigation for a missing person, as of noon today the child has not been located. The investigation continues as KSP personal are conducting interviews and looking in the area for any leads on the missing child.
Kentucky State Police are asking anyone who has information on the child to call (606)-433-7711.
This case is being led by Detective Merlo of the Kentucky State Police.
