Beaver Dam, KY. (January 27, 2018) – Kentucky State Police assisted a stranded motorist in the median of the Natcher Parkway. Through investigation, State Police discovered 5 firearms in the vehicle to include 4 handguns of varying types and calibers along with 1 rifle. Shamal Roach and Martino Arnett, both of Henderson, were discovered to be convicted felons. A third passenger of the vehicle, David James of Owensboro, was found to have an active emergency protection order that prohibits him from possessing firearms. Roach was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana. Arnett was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. James was charged with a violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. KSP was assisted by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). Kentucky State Police and the ATF will continue the investigation with further charges pending.
