Drug Roundup in Garrard County, Kentucky

(Richmond, KY) - On 1/4/2004 at 0600 hours, troopers of the Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond, along with officers of the Garrard County Sheriffs Department and the Lancaster Police Department, began arresting suspected drug dealers in Garrard County.

In March 2004, the Kentucky State Police at Richmond, began an undercover investigation into suspected drug activity in the Lancaster area. The eight-month investigation culminated with the arrests of twenty-two persons on a total of thirty-nine charges ranging from Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st (crack cocaine) , Trafficking in Marijuana and Trafficking Within 1000 yards of a School. All persons apprehended were lodged in the Lincoln County Regional Jail. The investigation into drug activity in Lancaster continues.
