Fatal Collision on Freeman Road in Ballard County

(Mayfield, KY) - Jason Hurt, 22 year old Wickliffe resident, was operating his 1994 Chev Pick-Up eastbound on Freeman Road. Mr. Hurt had pulled out of a driveway and accelerated at a high rate of speed causing his vehicle to spin out of control. Mr. Hurt struck an earth embankment and two trees when his vehicle became airborne and overturned. Mr. Hurt was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle with the vehicle coming to rest on top of him. Mr. Hurt was pronounced dead at the scene by Ballard County Coroner Bob Morrow. Tpr Kyle Nall is investigating the collision and was assisted at the scene by Ballard County Sheriff's Office, Ballard County EMS, Ballard County Rescue Squad and Wickliffe Fire Department.
