Arrest Made In Wal Mart Robberies

(RICHMOND, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 7, Richmond , has arrested one suspect in connection with two robberies which occurred at area Wal Marts on 3/13/2007. Curtis C. Hampton, age 43, of Stanford, was arrested in Danville at 2155 hours. When officers approached his vehicle to make the arrest, he fled the scene and was arrested after a foot pursuit. Another occupant of the vehicle also fled and was not located. At the time of the Hampton arrest, officers found a 12 gauge shotgun, shotgun ammunition and other items reported stolen in a residential burglary in the Waynesburg community of Lincoln County. The Waynseburg burglary occurred earlier in the evening. Detective Collins was assisted by officers of the Danville Police Department, who also have charged the suspect in connection with the robbery that occurred at the Danville Wal Mart on 3/13/2007. Hampton was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center. More arrests are expected in these cases.
