Two Arrested In $139,000 Copper Theft

(Frankfort, Ky) - A Kentucky State Police investigation has lead to the arrest of two men in a $139,000 theft of copper. KSP started its investigation on September 15, 2008. The investigation lead to warrants being issued on Lenny E. Jones, age 51 of Winchester and Tony D. Buckler Jr., age 40 of Paris. Both suspects were entered into NCIC by KSP Post 12 Frankfort.
The thefts began in February 2008 and ended in September 2008. The suspects stole copper from the Niles America Wintech Inc., Company located in Winchester, KY. Over an eight month period the stolen copper was taken to the Core Recycling Center in Anderson County. On October 19, 2008 both suspects were located and arrested.
Lenny E. Jones was lodged in the Clark County Jail. He has been charged with seven counts of Recovering Stolen Property over $300.00.
Tony D. Buckler Jr., was lodged in the Bourbon County Jail. He has been charged with seven counts of Recovering Stolen Property over $300.00. Investigation continues and other charges are pending.
