Update to the Barricaded Subject in Dry Ridge, KY

(Dry Ridge, KY) - After long hours of diverse measures taken to make contact with the subject, the Kentucky State Police (Special Response Team) gained successful entry into the residence. At approximately 2015 hours, the body of a white male was discovered in a back bedroom of the residence. The male was identified as Mr. Kenneth Gene Patrick, 46, of 18 Jillian Drive. The outstanding warrants were for Failure to Appear, and Contempt of Court. KSP Troopers were also investigation an alleged incident with his neighbors involving the charge of Wanton Endangerment.
Preliminary findings indicate the cause of death was a self inflicted gun shot wound. Mr. Patrick was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner, Mary Willoby. The investigation is on going by Detective Scott Lengle. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed later this week.

(Dry Ridge, KY) - The Kentucky State Police along with the KSP Special Response Team (S.R.T.) is currently on scene in response to an armed and barricaded subject at 18 Jillian Drive in Dry Ridge. The incident began on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at approximately 9:30 PM where the State Police attempted to serve a warrant on an armed subject. The subject refused to answer the door and was unresponsive to verbal commands.
Additional KSP units along with Grant County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the scene to secure the area, set up a perimeter, and to assist in evacuating the local residents. S.R.T. along with additional KSP field and detective units remain on scene at 6:30 PM to continue their efforts for a peaceful outcome.
