Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree Arrest

(Hickory, KY) - On February 3, 2009, Richard Dexter Coleman, 33, of Cadiz KY, was arrested and charged with one count of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree. On January 29th, 2009, the Kentucky State Police responded to the Trigg County E. R. in reference to a complaint that a child had been made to ride around in the bed of a pickup truck and was being treated at the E.R. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Coleman had transported his step-child in the open bed of the pickup for several hours and, at times, left the child unattended. A warrant was sought for Coleman and he was subsequently arrested. The investigation is continuing by Detective Michelle Kent with the Kentucky State Police. The State Police were assisted by the Trigg County Sheriff's Office, CVE, and the Hopkinsville Police Department.
